this is our brand new design that we call love birds. this fantastic bird story is inspired by a wonderful street art painting seenin barcelona. we have created this striking wallpaper as a fun and modern surprise for a wall that deserves a little extra. The Love Birds wallpaper has a remarkable effect and suprises when you see it.

This wallpaper come in 2 colourwas day and night and the effect is very different. the day colour has an original fifty’s feeling with the matt finish and bold blue and red. Whereas the love birds night design has a more stylish sophisticated evening look.

This is an example of the wallpaper used in a small room – the mirror and box effect is quite unique and gives a lot of deoration and a good experience.

we call it nordic blossom and its a follow up on our succesful collection from 2007 nordic leaves sold since world wide. both collections designed by tapet-cafe in coorperation with danish fiona.

This time with the remarkable spring branches. A very delicate and spot on fresh design, that in a poetic way hangs in the air. You get a very good feeling looking at it, almost healing and healthy in a pure asian but nordic way. Have a look at this beautiful design. Only 499 kr per 10 mtr roll.

flock of bids is another really lively and danish design inspired by the nordich phenomonen “sort sol” – it is perfect on a wall but also really special and cool in a ceiling, something fun and very different.

all 6 designs comes in different pure and nordic colour combinations. all the wallpapers in the collection nordic blossom are very suitable for the architecture in our northern part of the world, coordinating beautifully with the classic danish and treasured furnitures.

Haute Couture… and I think beautiful dresses, high heals etc. This is a crazy and hysterical world, but also super creative, a world that fascinates us all. Here the trashy underground meets the very sophisticated and extravagant, a glowing and very important contrast that lights you up.

I open my door to the catwalk. Chic fashion stripes can take over my walls and sit in my furnitures. Its fun when fashion world goes crazy, but even more cool when it comes to visit my house with flamboyant patterns and strange combinations creating my own private salon.

thursday 13th january tapet-cafe showed new designs at fabulous nimb hotel. a beautiful event that featured our new wallpaper collection by helene blanche. But also fantastic hand painted panels from de Gournay and curtains in different styles mainly from c&c milan.

the end wall at the nimb rotunde, de gournay plum blossom in custom colour blue on silver. On the side magic lino from C&C with a leather trim and another panel “willow” in green on silver, de gournay. all de gournay panels are made to order in colours from the collections or custom colours. Prices start at 6000 kr. per panel in a suitable height. Each panel has a width of 91 cm.

helene blanche has designed this outstanding and delicate new collection “nordic Blossom” in collaboration with fiona. its the follow up of nordic leaves also designed by my wife. her inspiration is a walk through the garden.

adventurous sillhouettes from nature. helene blanche in front of the wall of blossoms and birds. nordic blossom brings nature indoors with refined patterns and graphic sillhouettes. Wonderful clematis, spring branches, crispy roses with ered leaves.

my team had a fun but hard day

kasper købke in front of his creative new wallpaper nørrebrogade, made for us at tapet-cafe. a design that took more than 6 months to draw and repeat.

I am getting bored about everything that is conventional and corporate. Who says that you cant do super business at home in front of the fireplace with your children running around.

We have done it and it seems like the day has got many more hours. We have taken the step. Some would say “given up”. But its correct, Helene and I have said “yes” to each other and to our job. We have moved in with our business. We tested our private life but got it back 100%.

The office is now in the living room and the design studio in the warehouse. We are on top of our clients and in full control. We are self employed more than ever and live in fact very old fashioned., the Italian way, and I am crazy about it. Welcome to a new and super cool life without too much transport and waste. Nobody should tell me how to live my life. Back to the old days, its like in the southern restaurants where the children are noisy in the kitchen.

But this is a lifestyle I recommend. Make your work space beautiful and home feeling. Bring in nice colours in a soft environment. Take the meetings in the kitchen and the Friday drink in the garden. It’s the soul in what we are doing that creates it for us… and it works. Now more than ever our creativity is boosting. We have light the candle and it is “in the house”.

Fur and animal print is wild. zebra and python pattern is hot. I want monkeys climbing around in a world of palm tree paradise.

I can’t get enough of crocodile and peacock feathers. Even better when mixed with stone sculpture art and stuffed animals in a dramatic scene. What normally is outdoor comes indoor with coloured glass and botanic. Let it be exotic with bold deep tones on dark backgrounds.

Alexander McQueen cushion, The Rug Company

Brass brackets on shiny painted black doors and corners with bird cages and screens as room dividers made of cut wood. This all creates a mysterious and far eastern atmosphere. The interior design has to be a surprising oase and a world of its own, where all sences are stimulated.

- wild prints, foreign smells and the sound of jungle all gives a spicy taste. Water ponds and colourful fish with the sound of dripping water is cool. Its fantastic when you don’t know what to expect around the corner. The more unexpected the better. Jannik
